About Me

Hi my name is Leigh Bennett. My Sourdough journey  began in 2022 when a friend gave me my first sourdough starter. I wasn’t sure what to do with it but deep down I knew I was supposed to follow this lead. This lead me to studying all things sourdough starter, sourdough bread, watching experienced bakers and learning it’s health benefits. As I kept learning  and growing in knowledge and skill,  I began to make pretty decent bread. My next step was selling freshly baked loaves to those in my local community. Then after a couple  of month, in January of 2023,  I began offering classes to help others learn how to craft this amazing and healthy bread for themselves. But this all had a much deeper,  spiritual meaning for me. I believe God was showing  me something about my life through the making of this bread. He was showing  me that my fast pace of life needed to change.

More About Me!

Basically I knew I need to slow down and find a new rhythm with Him. With sourdough there’s a pacing,  a rhythm and a waiting period.  The fermentation process of baking with a natural yeast takes time. You move on its terms, not your own. And I needed to learn to move on God’s terms and timings and not my own. So this is me and my newfound journey.  I’ve been enjoying  this time with God and learning  the art of sourdough bread so much that I hope to inspire  to you to do the same.
